Career & College Readiness 101 Event April 15

Don't miss the Career & College Readiness 101 event for students and families in grades 8 through 12 next Wednesday, April 15, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Harrison Preparatory School (9103 Lakewood Dr. SW):
- Explore future college and career options at the job, community and inclusive resources fair.
- Schedule a financial aid appointment for high school seniors who need help completing the FAFSA or WASFA.
- Attend informational workshops.

Senator T’wina Nobles will provide a keynote address about the importance of supporting each student’s high school journey and preparation for their future through career and college exploration.

Financial Aid Appointment Information
- Families can schedule one-on-one financial aid appointments with trained experts.
- Support includes:
- FAFSA and WASFA completion
- Financial aid questions
- College cost planning and next steps
- Interpreters are available.
- Appointments are in-person and include both the student and a parent/guardian.
- Families are encouraged to bring FAFSA/WASFA usernames and passwords if available.

- Understanding credits, requirements and graduation expectations
- Charting Your Course: Starting with High School Pathways
- Exploring coursework options and planning for future goals

- Overview of financial aid, FAFSA/WASFA and affordability resources
