    At Harrison Preparatory School, our school improvement plan addresses preparing all students for college and career readiness by:

    1. Increasing academic achievement in English Language Arts, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), as well as International Baccalaureate Exams
    2. Closing the gaps in achievement and college and career readiness (CTE)
    3. Increasing engagement and communication with families to ensure equitable inclusion of all
    4. Creating a supportive learning environment for students, families, and staff through culturally responsive teaching practices
    5. Striving to be a model International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme school

    Goal #1: Academic - Increase student achievement in the HP MYP and DP IB Programmes as demonstrated by increased student mastery on IB MYP and DP criterion as measured by SBA and DP examinations.

    Goal #2: Family Engagement - HP will continue to support highly attended Fall and Spring SLCs, along with increasing the opportunities for family involvement in events; Department Nights, Grade Level Information Nights, Family volunteering opportunities, HP Family Reconnect and Family Voice opportunities, re-start of HP PTO, HP Watch DOGS, and JBLM Partners in Education. HP will also increase its volume of Family communications via email, phone and Puma Posts.

    Goal #3: HP educators have developed grade level specific goals to support Tier 1 -3 interventions, supported by HP Lessons, Character Strong, and intentional discourse with students through Advisory, Student Voice Lunches, Assemblies, and other voice opportunities. Educators continue to support student further through collaboratively developed Tier II and Tier III student specific interventions.

    Ensuring all of our students are known, heard, and are being learning in a supportive learning environment. Students are engaged in their HP learning experience, through rigorous International Baccalaureate instruction, and participate in clubs and activities that support the whole student.

    Harrison Prep continues to support students, grades 6-12, in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme.
    HP Students will graduate as Caring, Curious, Confident, and college ready young people who have respect for multiple cultures and perspectives.

    HP is guided by the school’s IB identity as evident in the mission, vision, and values that all students can learn and grow. As a school, we value academic, social, and personal growth that allow all learners to be active members of our community. The school community believes all students can learn and grow, which guides our work to get all students on-track for graduation and success in college, career, and post-high school pursuits. Students are taught through all courses, the IB Learner Profile Traits, as they align with the CPSD 4 Pillars. We work to prepare all students to be caring, curious, confident, and college ready, according to our Mission Statement.

    Goal Three: Student Stupport: HP Grade Level Teams will work to reduce disciplinary referrals, increase the use of Restorative Practices, and improve student attendance. Tier 1 supports will be consistently implemented, while Tier II and III will also be implemented and monitored with fidelity. HP Lessons, Advisory lessons, and intentional discourse with students through Advisory, Student Voice Lunches, Assemblies, and other voice opportunities will engage the ABCs of student success.
