    Our school is used throughout the school year during non-school hours by parents, community organizations and recreation groups.     School Improvement Plan

    Goal #1: Academic - Idlewild is focused on providing an educational experience that fosters measurable growth towards the master of written and oral communication. Teachers will use the curriculum resources and implement high leverage/high impact instructional strategies using district curriculum guides to provide for inclusive and culturally responsive classrooms Utilizing the PLC+ process (Plan, Act, Reflect), all teams will implement appropriate, just-in-time, flexible, in-class Tier 2 interventions in response to common formative data analyzed to meet any individual student need.

    Goal #2: Family Engagement - Idlewild staff will engage families in meaningful learning experiences to grow relationships, belonging and partnerships with classroom and partnership. These experiences will create opportunities for parents to celebrate their family's unique culture, provide feedback and understand how to better support their child in home learning experiences. The Idlewild leadership team will build capacity among staff to engage positively and effectively to actively gather all student, families, and community voices. By utilizing multiple means and methods of connection with families (Stakeholder listening sessions, restorative practices, wrap-around services, CBO partnerships, etc.), the staff will strengthen mutual respect and communication.

    Goal #3: Social Emotional - Staff and student mental health and well-being is at the forefront of the work at Idlewild. By implementing weekly dialogue and reflection, including restorative discussion circles, students will report an increase in their feelings of positive self-identity and classroom belonging. The Idlewild team will create a Tier I system of schoolwide expectations using the CPSD MTSS handbook and data analysis protocol to ensure common language and reinforcement of social emotional learning standards, skills, and strategies across settings and throughout the day. Utilizing the PLC+ process, staff will implement a Tier II and Tier III intervention systems using the CPSD MTSS handbook and data analysis protocol implementing social and emotional learning interventions based on student need.

    Goal #1 - Academic Goal: Of the K-3 students enrolled at Idlewild Elementary, benchmark students and below benchmark students will meet the growth expectations on the following assessments: STAR Early Literacy/Reading, Fontas and Pinnelle (Levels) and Phonemic Awareness.

    Goal #2 - Family Engagement Goal: In the 2021-22 school year, the Idlewild staff will engage with families and the community that represent our diverse students.

    Goal #3 - Social Emotional Goal: By Spring 2022, through embedding MTSS systems and support, we will alleviate disproportionality (according to the school's race, ethnicity, IEP status, and SES status data) in our academic and behavioral referrals K-5.
