  3. Public Comment
    Public Comments can be in-person, by phone, or Zoom video conferencing –you will be called upon to speak when it is your turn.

    Remarks of a negative nature singling out specific employees, other than the board and its secretary, will be heard in executive session following the business meeting. The board reserves the right to terminate comments containing personal attacks on individuals.

    When addressing the School Board, each person should give his/her name, school district in which you reside, and identify the topic you are addressing. If you would like a response, please provide your home address and phone number.

    Comments are limited to three (3) minutes per person, but may be shortened to accommodate a large number of speakers in the time set by the Board President. If the time per person is shortened, this will be announced at the outset of the Public Comment portion of the agenda and will apply to all members of the audience. You may defer your time to another attendee of the meeting. An individual may only receive one deferment of time making the total speaking time for any individual six minutes.

    The Board does not respond to public input during the meeting. You will receive a response from the Board President prior to the next regular business meeting of the Board. Items submitted in writing will be provided to the Board.

    Please contact the superintendent's office at [email protected] or at 253-583-5190 if you need communication aids or services during a meeting as soon as possible and no later than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled meeting so that necessary arrangements can be made.

  4. Individual Action Item

    22-179            Superintendent’s Contract Amendment

    WHEREAS, RCW 28A.400.010 states that the Board of Directors shall select a superintendent to supervise and carry out such powers and duties as prescribed by law; and

    WHEREAS, the Board has evaluated the Superintendent's performance and is in concurrence that he has the necessary skills and abilities to lead the educational operations of the Clover Park School District; and

    WHEREAS, all other terms of the original Superintendent's Contract remain in effect: and

    WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to these considerations:

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
    a.    That the Board of Directors of Clover Park School District No. 400, Pierce County, Washington, extends Superintendent Ron Banner's Contract for an additional year, through June 30, 2025.
    b.    That the Board of Directors and the Superintendent will meet at a mutually agreeable time(s) and negotiate the compensation provision of the Contract, including, but not limited to, salary, benefits, and leaves.  Any agreement will be retroactive to July 1, 2022, unless otherwise expressly agreed.
