invited to be involved in our school. We offer a variety of ways for interested individuals to support
our students. Some examples include joining our parent organization, volunteer tutoring, chaperoning
field trips, serving as a site council member and helping with school special events. Please contact us

School Improvement Plan
Oakbrook developed a school improvement plan that is the foundation for the most critical work that we do
with students, families, and community partners. We established goals after investing time identifying
our most essential needs. Looking at data and listening to families led us to create goals to support
high achievement in the areas of Literacy and Math. Strategies to help achieve our goals included our
ability to use state-of-the-art curriculum resources and assessments that were engaging and challenging
for students. Teachers continued to work diligently and collaboratively to look at daily assessment data
to stay informed about students’ needs. They then adapted their instruction to help each of their
students grow. Oakbrook also had a goal focused on increasing parent and community partnerships. We
opened up new avenues for two-way communication, added a number of our community partners, and partnered
with the Oakbrook PTSA to enhance our collaborative efforts. Finally, we had a goal focused on the
social and emotional well-being of our students. All teachers explicitly taught lessons that focused on
skills and strategies to help enhance the overall quality of life here at Oakbrook.
