2017 Community Perception Survey Results

An anonymous, 36-question survey, overseen by Pacific Market Research, was conducted in September 2017. A total of 400 telephone interviews were completed.

Key findings include:

  • Eighty-two percent of respondents either agree or strongly agree the district offers quality educational programs and services;
  • Sixty-eight percent of respondents either agree or strongly agree the district is teaching students the skills they need to lead successful lives;
  • Nearly nine of ten respondents (87%) agreed or strongly agreed that the district ensures schools are safe places to learn;
  • Most respondents agreed (70%) or strongly agreed that the district spends tax dollars wisely.
  • All respondents (100%) agreed that the partnerships the district maintains with local organizations are important.
  • Eighty percent of parents of school-aged children have visited the district website.
  • Respondents indicated the most important areas to fund are:
    1. Basic skills;
    2. Smaller class sizes; and
    3. Programs to help students.

Community members agree:

  • They receive information from the district on a regular basis;
  • The information is valuable;
  • The district is doing a good job keeping the community informed; and
  • The district keeps them aware of the status of several capital projects.
