CPSD Educators Earn National Board Certification

Eight CPSD Educators Earn National Board Certification
Posted on 03/09/2023

Eight Clover Park School District educators earned National Board Certification and 11 educators renewed their certification during the 2022-23 school year.

National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential. As part of this process, teachers must analyze their teaching content and students’ needs, submit videos of their teaching and provide student work samples that demonstrate growth and achievement.

With the new certifications, CPSD proudly employs 112 National Board Certified educators, which makes up nearly 12 percent of the district’s total certificated staff.

Congratulations to the educators who earned their certification this year:

  • Janette Catahan, Four Heroes Elementary School
  • Julie Erickson, Thomas Middle School
  • Marco Hornbeck, Thomas Middle School
  • Karissa Huhner, Lakes High School
  • Thomas McAvoy, Thomas Middle School
  • Sarah Neal, Harrison Preparatory School
  • Taryn Snell, Lakeview Hope Academy
  • Deborah Wilson, Four Heroes Elementary School

Currently, 39 more CPSD educators are pursuing their National Board Certification.
