Health Services
Clover Park schools are staffed with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Health Clerk in the Health Room and are managed by a Registered Nurse (RN, School Nurse). We also have 1:1 nurses working throughout the district to support individual students. Thank you for partnering with us in the following ways to keep CPSD students safe, healthy and learning!
General Health Information
Updating Health and Contact Information: Parents/guardians may need to be contacted during the school day due to student illness, medical emergency or health related questions or concerns. Please keep your contact information up to date in Skyward. You can contact your child’s school with any updates or changes. Please update your child's medical information in Skyward on a yearly basis and with any changes.
Health Screening: Schools conduct state-required vision and hearing screenings for students in K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th grade. We may screen students in other grades if we have the time and resources or if there are individual concerns. Dental screening may also be provided as a service to students and families. Yearly health screenings help us to catch any hearing, vision or dental concerns that may cause students to miss time at school or to fall behind in their classes. These screenings are for the benefit of all students to promote healthy learning. Please contact your child's school with any questions.
Life-Threatening Health Conditions: Washington state law requires any students with life-threatening medical conditions (Severe Asthma, Diabetes, Allergy with Epinephrine prescribed, Seizure Disorder, etc.) to have medication, supplies, care plans and medical orders in place every school year prior to attending school. New medication orders are required every school year, and medication must be unexpired. If your child has a serious medical condition, it is vital that you discuss this with your School Registered Nurse and teacher. If you believe your child’s health condition is not life threatening and doesn’t require these emergency preparations, you must submit a written statement from your child’s licensed health care provider stating that your child’s health condition is not life-threatening and/or that medications, orders, and a care plan are not required for school.
Medications: Students cannot transport or take any medications without parent/guardian, nurse and medical provider approval. Medication paperwork is required for any medications to be given at school. You can request medication paperwork from your child's school.
