Applying For Free and Reduced Price Meals
Applications for the free and reduced lunch/breakfast program are now available in Skyward Family Access. They are also available at all school offices or lunch rooms. You may apply at anytime during the school year. Be sure to sign the form and include all members of your household, and turn the form in to your school. Your application is completely confidential and will be processed within 10 working days. Please call the food service office if you have questions. Only one application per household is needed.
An application (one per household) must be completed each year (or if a student transfers into this district from another district) by the parent/guardian living in household one--the student's primary residence. You may apply or re-apply at any time during the school year.
- ONLY ONE APPLICATION is required per household except in some unique situations - please list all students in your household who are currently attending in this district, in the student section of the same application. Please allow up to ten days for your application to be processed.
- Parents/Guardians are responsible for paying for all meals served to their child(ren). This includes meals served prior to being approved for free or reduced-price meals.
- Free or reduced-price meals are available to eligible families based on household income. Households with foster children may also submit an application.
- When your application has been processed, you will be notified of your student's eligibility and eligibility will display in Family Access. Parents/Guardians are welcome to print the eligibility screen from Family Access so they have written verification of meal status for their student.
- Students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch may eat school breakfast at no charge (free). Questions about the free and reduced-price meal program can call 253-583-5490.
Free Lunch: The Community Eligibility Provision
Thanks to the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, many schools across the country are now able to provide free breakfast and lunch to ALL students without requiring applications to the Free and Reduced Lunch program!
The program is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP. To qualify for the CEP, schools must meet certain federal criteria. In Clover Park School District, twelve schools qualify:
Custer Elementary
Four Heroes
Dower Elementary
Lake Louise Elementary
Lakeview Hope Academy
Park Lodge Elementary
Tillicum Elementary
Tyee Park Elementary
Oakbrook |
Lochburn Middle School
Hudtloff Middle School |
Clover Park High School |
This means that all students at these twelve schools will receive free breakfast and lunch. Students will still need to provide their ID number in the cafeteria for tracking purposes. Students who bring their own lunch and wish to purchase milk (or other a la carte items) will still need to pay for their milk.
