Summer Resources 

Clover Park School District has partnered with community organizations to provide resources, events and activities for all members of the family during summer break.

Summer School 

CPSD will host summer school sessions for students who have pre-registered to receive academic enrichments. Elementary, middle and high school students will attend in person sessions. Bus transportation, breakfast, lunch and school supplies will be provided. Registration for summer school is closed. 

 

Elementary School

Free Summer Meals

A balanced diet is an essential element of student growth, development and academic success. CPSD provides free meals throughout the summer to children 18 years of age and younger.  Visit our Summer Meals news story to learn more about mealtimes, dates and locations.

Emergency Food Network (EFN) provides healthy, nutritious food to more than 75 partners in Pierce County. Visit Emergency Food Network and enter your zip code to find food pantries within the EFN network. It is recommended that you call the food pantry before your first visit to confirm dates, times, items you may need to bring with you and if an appointment is needed.

Boys & Girls Club 

Summer Day Camp registration is now open for the Lakewood Branch at The Gary and Carol Milgard Family Hope Center Boys and Girls Center. For registration and summer camp details visit the Boys and Girls Club registration page.

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties host summer day camps at YMCA community centers, CPSD school sites and at Camp Lake Helena. Children can make friends, gain confidence, develop valuable skills and create memories. To register for a summer day camp near you, visit Summer Day Camp Registration.

 

Late Nite (Lakewood Family YMCA)

 

Clover Park School District (CPSD) is partnering with the Lakewood Family YMCA for Late Nite beginning June 26. Late Nite is a free teen wellness and violence prevention program that offers all CPSD students in grades 6-12 a safe space to spend time with friends, meet new people and stay active each weeknight this summer.

Late Nite is a drop-in program and students can attend any days they choose. The program is available Monday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Fridays from 5-10 p.m. and runs through Sept. 1.

Students will be able to play activities like basketball and racquetball, access fitness equipment and workout rooms, and participate in clubs, programs and more. A full schedule of events is available at the Lakewood Family YMCA.

For more information and to register, visit the YMCA’s Late Nite webpage. First-time participants are required to bring a Late Nite waiver signed by a parent or guardian and present photo ID.

For transportation information, visit the Pierce Transit System Map webpage for bus stops and times. Students can ride all Pierce Transit buses for free with an ORCA card. Interested students can reach out to our secondary summer school sites (Clover Park High School, Lakes High School and Thomas Middle School) or the district’s Secondary Education Office to receive a free ORCA card.

 

Pierce County Library

 

The Pierce County Library System is offering a variety of free events this summer. For current Lakewood Library services and events, visit Lakewood Pierce County Library Events.
