Student, Parent and Community Involvement

Tillicum Elementary School is highly dependent upon broad based involvement for success. Involvement by stakeholders takes a variety of forms. Involvement in school may be a fundamental as getting a child to school on time or as broad as an active membership on the schools Steering Committee (Leadership Team).

Efforts to include parents in the school include but are not limited to annual open house, math and reading night, student lead conferences, book fairs, fundraisers, numerous classroom/booster club sponsored field trips and student achievement assemblies.

The staff at Tillicum Elementary recognizes the positive impact a strong partnership between home (community) and the school has on a child's educational success. This program provides support and resources as the school and parents take the nest step in creating a school that is the focal point of the community.

Service involvement opportunities include library helpers, food and clothing banks, math and reading tutoring, fund raising events, after school program, and jump rope for heart, dental van, and flu vaccinations among others.
