Free Meals: The Community Eligibility Provision
Thanks to the federal Healthy, Hunger -Free Act of 2010, many schools across the country are now able to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students without requiring applications to the Free and Reduced Lunch program.
The program is called the Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP. To qualify for the CEP, school districts must meet certain federal criteria. Clover Park School District has received approval to provide free meals to all students for the 2023-24 school year--this includes breakfast and lunch. Families do not need to complete a Free/Reduced School Meal Application this school year for eligibility.
Students will still need to provide their ID number in the cafeteria for tracking purposes. Students who bring their own lunch and wish to purchase milk (or other a la carte items) will still need to pay for their milk.
