College Ready

College Ready: Dual Credit Classes

High school students who complete selected high school courses with a "C" grade or better can earn Community/Technical College credit.

Why should students earn college credits in high school?

  • Earn double credit (both high school and college credit) for completing a high school course.
  • Receive priority registration if, after high school graduation, the student attends the community/technical college that granted the dual credit.
  • Stay on the high school campus and receive college credit.
  • Save college tuition costs before graduating from high school.

How does a student sign up for dual credit?

Contact your high school CTE teacher, counselor, or the career resource center specialist.

Which colleges offer dual credits?

Credits are available through Pierce College, Clover Park Technical College, and Bates Technical College. In addition to the dual credits listed below, Career and Technical Education also offers Advanced Placement courses in Environmental Science and Computer Science and an International Baccalaureate class in Film giving students even more opportunities to earn college credit while still in high school.
