2018-19 Small Works and Capital Projects
Timeline: Summer and 2018-19 School Year
Clover Park School District is improving parking lots and sidewalks at several schools for safety and ease of access. The
improvements are being made to increase the safety and security of staff and students and complete regular building maintenance.
Parking Lot Improvements and Playground Replacements
Parking lot replacements and/or additions are being constructed at Lochburn Middle School, Lake Louise and Idlewild Elementary Schools. At Lake Louise and Idlewild, improvements require the replacement of the playground equipment that will be displaced by the new parking lots. At Lochburn, the project includes a new sidewalk with pathway lighting from the main parking lot along the access road to Steilacoom Blvd.
Safety Enhancements and Security Entry Improvements
Upgrades will be made to the site entrances at several schools with safety enhancement equipment and infrastructure security features such as vestibules, digital display monitoring, telecommunication alerts, emergency lock down buttons and access controls. Improvements will be made at Lakes and Clover Park High Schools, Custer, Idlewild, Lakeview, Oakbrook, Park Lodge, Tillicum, Tyee Park, Dower and Lake Louise Elementary Schools.
Security Fencing and Gates
District staff has coordinated with the City of Lakewood and West Pierce Fire and Rescue to provide new security fencing and security gates at Lochburn Middle School, Custer, Idlewild and Tyee Park Elementary Schools. Fencing and gate projects are also planned at Tillicum, Lake Louise, Dower and Oakbrook Elementary Schools.
Clover Park High School Pool Renovation
Clover Park High School (CPHS) pool renovations are underway. The work includes resurfacing the plaster pool liner of the lap pool and diving tank, resurfacing the pool deck, replacement of deck tile and installation of a new diving board.
Clover Park High School Boiler Replacement
The CPHS boilers have exceeded their life expectancy. New boilers will be installed this summer.
Roof Replacements
Roofs replacements are scheduled at Custer, Dower, Lake Louise and Idlewild Elementary Schools and a portion of CPHS.
Harry Lang Stadium Exterior Painting
The stadium seating and concession areas will be repainted.
Districtwide Exterior Painting
The exteriors of CPHS, Dower, Custer and Oakbrook Elementary Schools will be painted.
