Be a Safety Hero!

Providing a safe and healthy learning environment is our highest priority. The district is working closely with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and monitoring reports of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The district is also following the Washington State Department of Health Decision Tree in its response.

Clover Park School District has an online form that allows you to quickly inform your student’s school of a positive COVID test, and it can be filled out on the website, on a computer or on a mobile device. Visit Student/Family Intake Form to submit a positive COVID test for your student.

Masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

As of March 14, 2022, masks/face coverings are optional on Clover Park School District property. This includes indoors, outdoors and on buses. Masks may be temporarily required in certain situations, such as outbreaks, illnesses. etc. The health department continues to recommend individuals wear well-fitting masks.

  • Staff, students, volunteers and visitors may continue to wear a well-fitting mask indoors, and their individual decisions will be supported.
  • Masks will be available for individuals who request one. Because masks are optional and a personal family decision, the district will not monitor mask wearing.
  • Masks will be required for individuals who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms at a school facility and need to isolate onsite.

Staff members may wear personal protective equipment (PPE) commensurate with their role and interaction with others. Information on how to properly put on and take off PPE is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

Everyone has an important safety role!

  • Ensure your child is well enough for school
  • Frequent hand washing/hand sanitizer
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Follow safety protocols and instructions from staff members

Cleaning and Disinfecting

Safety plans and protocols are in place for regular cleaning and disinfecting, social distancing, face coverings, transportation, meals, daily routines, following health department protocols in the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19 and more.

Schools and buildings are conducting increased daily cleaning and disinfecting of high-traffic areas, doors, counters and places that are high-touch points and very public, as well as horizontal surfaces.

Restrooms, health rooms and drinking fountains are disinfected multiple times during the day. Guidelines and supplies for cleaning desks and tables were provided for each classroom, and staff members clean and sanitize high-touch areas throughout the day. Additionally, buses are cleaned and disinfected twice daily, as well as in between routes.

Safety protocols are followed by all students, staff and visitors to district facilities. In the event a COVID-19 case is reported to the district, the health department will provide guidance on safety measures.

  • Individuals who are determined to be potential close contacts of positive COVID-19 persons will receive notifications, which will include guidance on what to do next.
  • A weekly report of confirmed cases by location will be provided on the district website.
