Ready to Learn Fair prepares students for return to school

The Caring for Kids “Ready to Learn Fair” is set for Saturday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lochburn Middle School (5431 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Lakewood). This free event gives students an opportunity to start school right with clothing, backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, immunizations (bring immunization records), hygiene products, books, bike helmets and food.

The event, sponsored by Caring for Kids, the city of Lakewood and the Milgard Family Foundation, is open to students who qualify for free or reduced lunch and attend school in Clover Park, Steilacoom or University Place School Districts.

For more information about the fair, to volunteer or make a donation, contact Diane Formoso at 253-279-9777.
