Educational Programs and Operations Levy Passes

The election results from the Feb. 9 educational programs and operations replacement levy have been officially certified; Lakewood’s voters have approved the measure!

According to information from the Pierce County Election Office on Feb. 19, the results are:

Yes         4,443     (55.85%)
No          3,512     (44.15%)

“We are very pleased and thankful for the support our community has shown us,” said Clover Park School District superintendent Debbie LeBeau. “With the uncertainty surrounding the McCleary decision and fully funding education in Washington, Clover Park School District’s levy will provide some stability to the educational programs and services we provide.

“I’d like to extend my sincere appreciation to the thousands of voters who supported us and the more than 100 volunteers who waved signs, wrote letters and shared information to help the levy get approved,” she added.
