CPSD recognized for exemplary career guidance programs

Clover Park School District’s (CPSD) secondary schools have received the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s (OSPI) Career Guidance Award of Excellence for the second straight year. In addition to individual schools being recognized, CPSD was one of three districts statewide recognized as having a cohesive, districtwide program. The award recognizes schools that operate highly effective and inclusive guidance and counseling programs. CPSD’s secondary schools, Clover Park and Lakes High Schools, Harrison Preparatory School and Hudtloff, Lochburn, Mann and Woodbrook Middle Schools, received awards. Only 34 schools throughout the state were recognized with this award.

“The mission of Clover Park School District is to teach each child what he or she needs to know to succeed and contribute to the community,” said Brian Laubach, CPSD’s deputy superintendent. “The High School and Beyond Plan and comprehensive career guidance program are foundational to this mission. The High School and Beyond Plan helps students plan for and succeed at the next stage of their lives.”
