Seven CPSD schools honored with Washington Achievement Awards

Seven Clover Park School District (CPSD) schools have won Washington Achievement Awards. Schools were recognized as top performers in one or more of six categories: Overall Excellence; High Progress; Reading Growth; Math Growth; Extended Graduation Rate (awarded to high schools and comprehensive schools only); and English Language Acquisition.

The CPSD schools are:

⋅ Clarkmoor Elementary- High Progress                  
⋅ Clover Park High School- High Progress                                
⋅ Lakes High School- High Progress                            
⋅ Oakwood Elementary- High Progress, Math Growth, English Language Acquisition
⋅ Park Lodge Elementary- Reading Growth            
⋅ Tillicum Elementary- High Progress, Reading Growth

“I commend the teachers, staff and administrators at these schools for working hard to achieve student success,” said CPSD superintendent Debbie LeBeau. “This honor reflects the amount of work that’s put into ensuring each student has the resources they need to achieve their potential.”  

Washington Achievement Award winners are selected using the State Board of Education Revised Achievement Index and are based on statewide assessment data for the three previous years. The Washington Achievement Award is sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education. This is the sixth year of the Washington Achievement Awards.

The award-winning schools will be honored at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 28 at Spanaway Lake High School.
