CPSD transportation department receives exceptional school bus inspection rating

Clover Park School District’s (CPSD) transportation department received exceptional results from the Washington State Patrol (WSP) annual inspection of its bus fleet. Once a year, the WSP performs a 100 percent inspection of the district’s bus and motor pool fleet of vehicles that transport students. The fleet of vehicles - 138 buses and 14 district vans - received a 100 percent rating with no out of service criteria.

Due to the shortage of bus drivers in CPSD and in other districts, four of the mechanics drove buses in the afternoon in addition to their regular duties as mechanics of district vehicles and equipment. Despite this, the mechanics were still able to accomplish this complete inspection with the highest rating.

“I commend the hard and consistent work of our mechanics and the teamwork displayed with the drivers and dispatch to meet our mission to support student education,” said Delphie Nielsen, director of transportation. “We are committed to ensuring the safe transport of our students on a daily basis.”
