Search for a new superintendent—be a part of the process!

Clover Park School District is a highly diverse community firmly committed to creating promising futures for the nearly 13,000 students in the city of Lakewood and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Graduation rates continue to climb and are over 88 percent—a more than 10 percent increase since 2015. The district has made significant investments in curriculum and professional development to strengthen effective instruction and support student learning. Programs are being expanded to provide rigorous learning opportunities to meet the unique needs of students K-12.

 

Meet the Candidates for Superintendent!

The school board has selected two internal candidates to interview for superintendent: Ron Banner, deputy superintendent, and Brian Laubach, assistant superintendent for secondary schools.

There are multiple opportunities Feb. 23-27 to observe, interact and provide written input to the school board as it makes this important decision! All meetings will be held at the Student Services Center (SSC), room 4.

Candidate meetings with employee groups are for Clover Park School District staff members. *Please note classified and certificated staff are welcome to attend either the 2:30-3:15 p.m. or 3:30-4:15 p.m. sessions depending on what best fits their schedules. Staff are also welcome to attend the community forums at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 and 27 to interact with the candidates and provide written feedback.

Community is welcome to attend the community forums to interact with superintendent candidates and provide written input.

The board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Feb. 28, 10 a.m. (instead of 3 p.m.), and immediately go into executive session to evaluate qualifications of the superintendent candidates for employment. It will then go into open session to determine if an internal candidate will be selected superintendent.
