It is the policy of the district that safety education/training and accident prevention are responsible precautions to insure student, staff, and visitor welfare throughout the school district.  The Board of Directors believes that safety and accident-prevention education of both students and employees serves not only as a protective measure during school and normal work hours, but also as an instructional means of developing appropriate modes of behavior to minimize accidents at all times and to develop positive, lifelong attitudes and habits toward safety.  The district has developed accident prevention and safety programs in compliance with state and federal guidelines. In addition, the district will develop plans to respond to emergencies and will periodically schedule practice drills, as required by the superintendent. Such drills will prepare students and staff for bus exiting as well as fire, earthquake, and storm emergencies.
