Bereavement, Family, Emergency Leave – Non Bargaining Employees
Bereavement leave may be granted up to five (5) days for death in the employee’s family. If extended travel or a second leave is necessary to attend to a funeral, memorial service or business relating to the death, two (2) additional days will be allowed.
Immediate family is defined as the following family relationships to either the employee or their spouse/domestic partner: mother, father, parent surrogate, spouse/domestic partner, child, adopted or foster child, parent in-law, son or daughter in-law, brother or sister, brother or sister in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, any other relative living in the immediate household of the employee, or other person standing in a familial relationship.
One (1) day of bereavement leave will be allowed for a close friend or other relation.
