Community Schools

The district may operate community schools after school hours to encourage public participation in educational activities. The district is encouraged to include programs for prospective parents, foster parents, and adoptive parents on parenting skills, violence prevention, and the problems of child abuse and prevention of child abuse. The programs use volunteer instructors and are offered when there are demonstrable public needs and interests, which match available resources. The programs are to be financed through grants and/or fees charged to participants.
