District Attendance Areas
In accordance with Board Policy 3130, the superintendent will develop and maintain legal descriptions and maps that define school attendance boundaries within the district.
The superintendent shall designate a boundary review committee to study demographic trends, monitor enrollment and evaluate program demand against school attendance boundaries.
If there is an impact to an attendance boundary, the committee will consider viable options to alleviate the impact, which may include school boundary changes. Recommendations shall be developed and presented to the superintendent for review. Any boundary change recommendation shall be submitted during the budget development’s preliminary enrollment projection cycle.
Boundary changes that do not affect currently enrolled students may be presented directly to the board for approval without a public hearing. All other boundary change recommendations require a public forum by the end of May. The formal recommendation for a school boundary change shall be presented to the board of directors in the form of an official board resolution.
The board of directors has final approval of modifications or changes to school attendance boundaries within the district.
